UAS4STEM Drone Engineering Challenge
Your full guide to our AMA-sanctioned drone engineering program.
What is UAS4STEM?
UAS4STEM is a national student drone engineering competition led by the Academy of Model Aeronautics (AMA). Teams design, assemble, program, and fly a quadcopter through a real-world emergency inspection mission.
Divisions & Competition Levels
Students compete in either Beginner or Advanced levels, depending on past placement and technical readiness.
Training & Ground School
All competitors complete required mission safety training, part identification, and autonomous flight planning modules before flight.
Safety & Expectations
Closed-toe shoes, designated flight line, safety pilot, and AMA-approved flight boundaries are mandatory.
Parent Information
Parents support travel, logistics, forms, and encouragement — but only students perform mission tasks during judged flights.
